2025 Rules
Cooking Pork Butts Only
Cut off for the number of contestants will be 15 teams.
Entry fee will be $100.00 per team.
Teams can start arriving after 12:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 10th.
Contestants will have a meeting on Friday, Oct. 10th at 9:30pm.
Butts will be distributed at 10:00 pm Friday, Oct 10th.
Butts will weigh 8lbs to 10lbs.
Each contestant will be issued 6 butts.
Five of the butts will be seasoned for competition.
One butt will be issued back to the Chamber for sale.
Butts will be check for safe temperature on Saturday Oct. 11th at 10:00 am.
Contestants can then shred, sauce prepare the pork for judging.
Judging will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm by people who purchase tickets for the peoples choice.
The cost for people who want to taste the pork will be $10.00 per person.
Each person who wants to taste the pork will have 15 colored tickets to taste each contestants pork in a 2 oz. portion.
They will also have another ticket of a different color that they can place by the contestant that they think has the best pork.
After the tasting has been completed, a select panel with count the tickets to see who won the competition.
Awards will be presented on stage for the three best teams Saturday afternoon.
First Place $500.00
